Jess Hertz

Jess Hertz is Chief Operating Officer at Shopify, where she leads teams across revenue, professional services, support, operations, talent, legal, communications, and security. She was appointed COO in October 2025, after joining Shopify in November 2021 as General Counsel. 

Before Shopify, Jess served as White House Staff Secretary, managing the flow of decision-making materials to and from the President and senior White House leadership. Earlier, she was Director and Associate General Counsel at Meta, focused on regulatory and government affairs.
