Thibault “Tibo” Sottiaux leads Product & Platform at OpenAI, where he oversees the teams building OpenAI’s products used by over a billion people around the world, from ChatGPT and Codex, to the API platform. His work focuses on turning frontier AI capabilities into reliable, useful products for people and teams, from everyday ChatGPT workflows to developer tools that can understand codebases, complete real engineering tasks, and support collaboration across the software development lifecycle. Before OpenAI, Tibo was at Google DeepMind, where he led human data work for Gemini and built AI/ML workflow infrastructure for DeepMind research. Earlier in his career, he worked as a software engineer at Google and in applied research roles across decision-making, predictive modeling, and database systems. He holds degrees in computer science, computational mathematics, and applied mathematics from Université catholique de Louvain.
