Maria Sharapova
Athlete & Entrepreneur
Bursting onto the scene at just 17 years old, Maria Sharapova claimed the 2004 Wimbledon title by upsetting the defending champion, Serena Williams. This early triumph set the stage for an illustrious career. Originally from Siberia, Sharapova ultimately amassed 36 WTA singles trophies and an impressive win-loss record of 645-171, while also holding the world No. 1 ranking for 18 weeks after first reaching the pinnacle in 2005.
Her ability to adapt across different surfaces was evident in her Grand Slam success. Reaching 10 major finals throughout her career, she secured five championships: adding the 2006 US Open, the 2008 Australian Open, and both the 2012 and 2014 French Open titles to her initial Wimbledon victory. This impressive collection earned her the coveted career Grand Slam.
In her post-tennis career, Maria has launched a second act as an investor and entrepreneur. She also hosts the Pretty Tough podcast, focusing on achieving women in all fields.
