Entrepreneur and philanthropist Jimmy Iovine is regarded as a legendary figure in the music industry. His career in music began in his late teens as an engineer at Record Plant recording studio in New York City, working with artists like John Lennon and Bruce Springsteen. After mastering the skills of the music engineering trade, Jimmy focused on his natural talent for production, manufacturing albums for musicians such as Stevie Nicks, Patti Smith, U2, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. In 1990, he co-founded Interscope Records, which has come to be widely regarded as the home of music’s most consistently fearless and popular artists. Alongside hip-hop pioneer Dr. Dre, whom he met at Interscope Records, Jimmy co-founded Beats Electronics, Beats by Dre, and Beats Music, which were acquired by Apple in 2014. He is also an investor in the ready-to-drink cocktail brand Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop.

In 2013, Jimmy and Dr. Dre founded a school at the intersection of technology, business, and arts to prepare students for careers in the 21st-century global marketplace: the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy. The pair also established the Iovine and Young Center in 2022, a high school for young scholars to explore entrepreneurship, technology, and design. Acclaimed icon Jimmy is a board member for XQ Institute, Live Nation Entertainment, Rosewood Creative, and NTWRK. He was inducted into the 37th Annual Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2022 for his illustrious five-decade career as an engineer, a producer, and an executive.
