Grant LaFontaine

Co-founder and CEO

Whatnot

Grant LaFontaine is the co-founder and CEO of Whatnot, the largest live shopping platform in North America, the U.K., and Europe. LaFontaine, along with his co-founder Logan Head, started Whatnot to enable anyone to turn their passion into a business and bring people together through commerce.

The platform spans hundreds of categories—from sports cards and sneakers to fashion, sports cards, coins, and even live plants—offering sellers new ways to grow their businesses through real-time, community-driven commerce. Last year, Whatnot helped facilitate over $3 billion in live sales for small businesses and is on track to more than double that by the end of 2025. One in ten now sell full-time on the platform, where buyers spend an average of 80 minutes a day forming authentic relationships with a vibrant community of sellers and shoppers.

Before founding the company, Grant held product roles at YouTube and Facebook, and co-founded Kit, which was acquired by Patreon. He holds a BA in Economics from Cornell and is based in Los Angeles.
