Byron Deeter

As a prominent venture capitalist, Byron Deeter focuses his investments on artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, frontier technology, and the sports industry. He helped create several influential Bessemer initiatives, including the 10 Laws of Cloud Computing, the Forbes Cloud 100, the BVP Nasdaq Emerging Cloud Index, and the STRIVE executive wellness program. 26 of his portfolio companies hold valuations exceeding $1 billion, and he has guided 13 of those businesses through their initial public offerings.

Byron has appeared on the Forbes Midas List of top tech investors multiple times. His extensive leadership roles include a former stint as Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association, and he holds ownership stakes in both the San Francisco 49ers and Leeds United. Additionally, he actively advises and serves on the boards of Pledge 1%, Cal Rugby, the U.C. Berkeley Foundation, and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation. He’s also a serial Ironman competitor and a four-time national collegiate rugby champion.
